‘The houses were dark; fluffy snow filled the air, Cindy and Taran dreamed sweet dreams without care. “I must be quiet, and I must be quick,” Storee hissed. Tonight, she was resolved to have her pussy kissed.’
A few weeks ago, Meghan Quinn was actually a few towns away from me doing the release for this book. While I couldn’t attend I did celebrate by buying Christmas Pajamas and then purchasing the physical copy of this book (as most know I am an E-Ink girlie pop). As a chronic mood reader, I wasn’t sure diving into Christmas books before Halloween was even over would be my vibe but let’s just say Santa came to town early and I couldn’t be happier about it.
Okay, onto the review.
Yup, she has captured me, mind, body—and dick.
After 10 years away, Storee is back in her Aunt Cindy’s home town to help her after she breaks her hip. She has long avoided coming back and is looking for an exit strategy the second the wheels on her suitcase hit the town floor. In addition to being back in a year long Christmas town, her Aunt is also insisting she takes her place in the local Christmas competition which puts her right next to her childhood friend now turned Arch Nemesis Cole.
This book is so freaking cute, I actually can’t. The story is just the right amount of campy, Christmasy, funny and, of course, spicy spice. Meghan’s books always hit the nail on the head with the right balance of humor and then of course Spice.
While it took a good 20% for the story to really start progressing and then about 50% for the spicy spice to kick in, the wait was definitely worth it and I loved every second it.
My one gripe was how short the epilogue was. After such a thick daddy book, I was ready to just melt into their happy ever after and read it on and on. While we did get the meat and potatoes of their HEA, I was craving more. Maybe we will all be blessed with an extended one in the future?
That said, I will also never look at candy canes the same way again, especially if I ever come across a pineapple one.
