Single Dad and a Billionaire to boot? Sold and sold again.
It’s no secret that I love everything Marni Mann writes, even the angsty ones that give me the big cries.

When I saw Marni this past June in Texas for Book Bonanza, she mentioned that her newest female character is a red head and my mind instantly went, ‘Awww she wrote a book about me’ and I’ll be going with that in my mind.
The Heartbreaker is the story of Ridge a Single Dad whom just also happens to be a Billionaire dating an exotic dancer whom just so happens to be his daughter’s first grade teacher. Now while that sounds like a intriguing read on it’s own we haven’t even discussed the spice yet because helllloooo.
Ridge meets Addison at a Bachelor / Bachelorette party with the expectation they’ll just have some mutual fun and part ways. Little does he know he won’t be able to get Addison out of his mind and even if he does, he won’t get far from her when he sees her standing in his daughter’s first grade classroom as her teacher.
One thing I love about Marni and this series is, you never know what to expect. While you know there will be plenty of delicious spice with no slowburn found, the complexity of the characters is never a copy/paste. Their background, complexity and the reasons why the often want to stay just sheet tossing companions is more than meets the eye.
I loved how Ridge didn’t smother Addison with the ability to solve her problems with the snap of wrist (and the flick of his pen across his checkbook) but rather respected her independence, the ownership she had over her own body and did not insist she do or stop doing anything. While I love a good alpha (it’s no secret I have a small addiction to my Mafia men) it was incredibly refreshing.
One of my other favorite things in this series is also the little check ins when we get with the couples from the other books. I love getting little windows into what is currently going on with them.
The Heartbreak is available now, either by physical copy or Kindle edition.
While all of the books are standalone, I highly recommend starting off with the Lawyer. Not just because Dominick is my favorite or anything.
